Up Helly Aa 2023 - Changes to Public Bus Services

Timetable changes for Tuesday 31st January and Wednesday 1st February 2023.

0900 Lerwick North Loop: Service will terminate at King Harald Street at 0927.
0930 Lerwick South Loop: Service cancelled due to marching of Jarl Squad from Lerwick Legion.
1000 Lerwick North Loop: Service will start from Viking Bus Station at 1002 and travel along Commercial Road, rejoining its normal route from Bolts at 1004. Service will terminate at the Viking Bus Station at 1028.
1030 Lerwick South Loop: Service will start from Viking Bus Station at 1030 and travel along Commercial Road and King Harald Street, rejoining its normal route from Scalloway road at 1032.
1705 Lerwick North Loop: After the Annsbrae stop at 1706, this service will be unable to access King Harald Street. Service will be travel along Scalloway Road and Lochside, rejoining its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout. Then, after the Scalloway Road stop at 1734, service will travel through Annsbrae and Church Road, terminating at Harrison Square at 1737.

0840 from Viking Bus Station: After the Sea Road (Tesco) stop, the bus will travel along Lochside and rejoin its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.
0938 from Port Arthur: Arrival into Viking Bus Station may be delayed slightly as the vehicle follows the Jarl Squad to the Viking Bus Station.
1010 from Viking Bus Station: Service will depart the Viking Bus Station and travel along Commercial Road and King Harald Street, rejoining the normal route from Scalloway Road.
1715 from Viking Bus Station: After the Sea Road (Tesco) stop, the bus will travel along Lochside and rejoin its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.
1910 from Viking Bus Station: After the Sea Road (Tesco) stop, the bus will travel along Lochside and rejoin its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.

0935 from Sumburgh Airport: After the Scalloway Road stop, service will travel along King Harald Street and Commercial Road to reach Viking Bus Station.
0945 from Viking Bus Station: Service will have a delayed departure, only leaving once the rolling road closure has passed the Viking Bus Station. On departure, the bus will travel along Commercial Road and King Harald Street, rejoining its normal route from Scalloway Road.
1045 from Viking Bus Station: Service will travel along Commercial Road and King Harald Street, rejoining its normal route from Scalloway Road.

0955 from Walls: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.
1715 from Viking Bus Station: After the Annsbrae stop, service will travel along Scalloway Road and Lochside, rejoining its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.
1810 from Walls: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.

1629 from Bixter: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.
1710 from Viking Bus Station: After the Annsbrae stop, service will travel along Scalloway Road and Lochside, rejoining its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.

1705 from Viking Bus Station: After the Annsbrae stop, service will travel along Scalloway Road and Lochside, rejoining its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.
1805 from Vidlin: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.

1715 from Viking Bus Station: After the Annsbrae stop, service will travel along Scalloway Road and Lochside, rejoining its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.

0905 from Toft: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.
1655 from Toft: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.
1710 from Viking Bus Station: After the Annsbrae stop, service will travel along Scalloway Road and Lochside, rejoining its normal route from the Grantfield Roundabout.
1805 from Toft: After the Bolts stop, service will travel directly to the Viking Bus Station along Commercial Road.

Morning Service (Southbound): Service will be unable to access the Esplanade. After Viking Bus Station service will travel along Commercial Road and King Harald Street, rejoining its normal route from Scalloway Road.

Bressay Shopper: Service has been altered to operate on Monday 30th January 2023. In order to support this, Service 42 will be CANCELLED on Monday 30th January 2023.

Due to the Public Holiday, only a limited Service 6 will be in operation. The timetable in use on this date can be seen HERE.

Please note all inter-island ferry services will operate to the normal Winter timetable on Wednesday 1st February 2023.
