Alterations to Services - The Tall Ships Races Lerwick 2023

These diversions will result in the Esplanade, Annsbrae and Harrison Square bus stops being out of service for the duration of the closure. Details of the alterations are:

Service 1 - Lerwick Town Service

• The service will use the bus stop at the Stewart Building on Commercial Road as its terminus. On departure from this stop, the bus will travel up Harbour Street to King Harald Street. From here:
  • South Loop: The bus will turn left on to King Harald Street, travel the full length of King Harald Street, turn right on to Scalloway Road and return to the normal route from Scalloway Road.
  • North Loop: The bus will turn left on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street and right back on to King Harald Street, returning to the normal route from the Islesburgh bus stop.

Service 4 - Lerwick to Scalloway

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street and right on to Scalloway Road, returning to the normal route from Scalloway Road.
• Departures from Port Arthur will follow the normal route to the Viking Bus Station.

Service 6 - Lerwick to Sumburgh

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street and right on to Scalloway Road, returning to the normal route from Scalloway Road.
• Departures from Sumburgh Airport will arrive into Lerwick and follow the normal route as far as Scalloway Road. From here the bus will turn left on to King Harald Street, right on to Commercial Road and right into the Viking Bus Station.

Service 9 - Lerwick to Walls

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street and right back on to King Harald Street. The service will return to the normal route from the Islesburgh bus stop.
• Departures from Walls will arrive into Lerwick and follow the normal route as far as Bolts. From here the bus will turn right on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street, right on to King Harald Street and stopping at stops on King Harald Street, right on to Commercial right and right into the Viking Bus Station.
• The 0700 departure from Walls will follow a separate route on arrival in Lerwick. After Commercial Road the bus will turn right into the Viking Bus Station, turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street, right on to Scalloway Road and return to the normal route from Scalloway Road.

Service 12 - Lerwick to Aith

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street and right back on to King Harald Street. The service will return to the normal route from the Islesburgh bus stop.
• Departures from Aith and Bixter will arrive into Lerwick and follow the normal route as far as Bolts. From here the bus will turn right on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street, right on to King Harald Street and stopping at stops on King Harald Street, right on to Commercial right and right into the Viking Bus Station.

Service 19 - Lerwick to Vidlin

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street and right back on to King Harald Street. The service will return to the normal route from the Islesburgh bus stop.
• Departures from Vidlin will arrive into Lerwick and follow the normal route as far as Bolts. From here the bus will turn right on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street, right on to King Harald Street and stopping at stops on King Harald Street, right on to Commercial right and right into the Viking Bus Station.
• The 0814 departure from Vidlin will travel directly into the Viking Bus Station first as normal, before completing the loop as outlined above.

Service 21 - Lerwick to Hillswick

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street and right back on to King Harald Street. The service will return to the normal route from the Islesburgh bus stop.
• Departures from Hillswick will arrive into Lerwick and follow the normal route as far as Bolts. From here the bus will turn right on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street, right on to King Harald Street and stopping at stops on King Harald Street, right on to Commercial right and right into the Viking Bus Station.

Service 23 - Lerwick to Mossbank & Toft

• Departures from the Viking Bus Station will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street and right back on to King Harald Street. The service will return to the normal route from the Islesburgh bus stop.
• Departures from Mossbank & Toft will arrive into Lerwick and follow the normal route as far as Bolts. From here the bus will turn right on to King Harald Street, left on to King Erik Street (Town Hall Brae), right on to St Olaf Street, right on to Union Street, right on to King Harald Street and stopping at stops on King Harald Street, right on to Commercial right and right into the Viking Bus Station.
• The 0640 departure from Toft will arrive directly into the Viking Bus Station via Commercial Road as normal.

Service 24V - Integrated North Isles Service

• The 0930 departure from Toft will arrive into the Viking Bus Station as normal. After the Viking Bus Station the bus will turn left on to Commercial Road, left on to King Harald Street and right on to Scalloway Road, returning to the normal route from Scalloway Road.
• The afternoon departure from Tesco will follow the normal route as far as Scalloway Road. After Scalloway Road the bus will turn left on to King Harald Street, right on to Commercial Road and right into the Viking Bus Station. The service will return to the normal route on departure from the Viking Bus Station.

Crew Parade

Additionally, the Crew Parade to be held in the afternoon of Wednesday 26th July will result in additional disruption to services between 15:00 and 17:00. These alterations will be as follows:

Service 1 - Lerwick Town Service

• 15:30, 16:00 and 16:30 departures from Stewart Building are cancelled.

Service 4 - Lerwick to Scalloway

• 15:38 departure from Port Arthur will follow the normal route as far as the Grantfield Roundabout. From here the bus will turn right on to Lochside, left on to Scalloway Road and left on to King Harald Street where it will terminate.
• 16:10 departure from the Viking bus Station and 16:38 departure from Port Arthur are cancelled.

Service 6 - Lerwick to Sumburgh

• 15:10 departure from Sumburgh Airport will follow the normal route as far as Scalloway Road. From here the bus will turn left into King Harald Street where it will terminate.
• 16:50 departure from Shetland College will start from the Viking Bus Station at 17:10. Shetland College, Holmsgarth, Co-op and Bolts stops will not be served.

Service 12 - Lerwick to Aith

• 15:40 departure from Viking Bus Station will not serve the Anderson High School. After Bolts, the bus will head straight across the Grantfield Roundabout and wait at the Shetland Hotel until departing at 15:59.
• 16:29 departure from Bixter will divert via the Black Gaet, the South Road and Scalloway Road and terminate in King Harald Street.

Service 21 - Lerwick to Hillswick

• 15:30 departure from Hillswick will divert via the Black Gaet, the South Road and Scalloway Road and terminate in King Harald Street.
